How To: Hand Sanitizer but DON'T

3/16/2020 (Permalink)

During this time of the Coronavirus, hand sanitizers are being wiped out of local stores. In fact, once it is back in stock, there is a limit of how many you may purchase.

Here's how to make homemade hand sanitizer: 3 simple ingredients, or so you think. Rubbing alcohol (to disinfect), aloe vera gel (to soothe the skin), essential oil (to gentle the smell & soothe).

Here's why you shouldn't make homemade hand sanitizer: First, it is actually better to wash your hands with soap and water vs hand sanitizer. Second, it is easy to mess up if you do not have the right ratio of ingredients. With a homemade hand sanitizer you are more than likely to end up with something non effective or too harsh.
